Premedia

As a qualified prepress technician, I can prepare or design all kinds of printed products with an extensive technical expertise. I have been involved in the print and packaging industry and am comfortable with both digital and traditional printing processes. My experience is rich, and I enjoy sharing that knowledge.

The overall quality of a project relies heavily on the proper handling of the files during prepress operations. The first step is to ensure the quality of the provided data, followed by the elaboration of a layout that meets the project's requirements. A proofreading procedure is then performed, and a validation proof is submitted to the client.

Upon approval of the documents, the project enters its production planning stage. Printing layouts are created using imposition software, and are passed on to the machines following appropriate production methods. Care is taken throughout the whole prepress process to comply with existing standards and certifications (PSO) to ensure quality of the end product.

Packaging

Since 2015 I have been working in the packaging field, in charge of editing and reviewing artwork for Philip Morris in particular. This complicated and fascinating world has tested my skills and expertise, and given me tremendous challenges to tackle.

The first step in my process is a rigorous examination of the provided graphics to identify the most effective solutions that fit the production specifications.

Then comes the actual editing. Many aspects are involved, including spot colors layering (up to 10 or 12), color management and trapping, typography, image editing, legal and localization guidelines, as well as finishes and die-cuts.

Further checks and validations are carried out in direct collaboration with the client. Each artwork is thoroughly reviewed with the designer, his feedback and my expertise will allow me to adjust the artwork prior to final approval. The resulting files will be fully ready for production.

Webdesign

Naturally curious and creative, I appreciate website development and conception, along with UX design. A keen interest in programming led me to study HTML5 and CSS3 (as well as Sass, Joomla, Wordpress, and basics of VueJS and Angular).

I have had the chance to work on several personal and communities websites, which allowed me to gain a lot of experience in web design and development. Interested by the principles of User Experience (UX), I am continuously studying and learning more about it at my own pace.

Thanks to my participation to a few large scale projects, I have also acquired the basics of teamwork via Gitlab, as well as some CMS such as Wordpress, Joomla, VueJS and Angular.

And more

I possess since 2019 a Printing Sales Agent Federal Diploma. This degree has taught me important cross-disciplinary skills and provided a broader view of the printing industry. Continuous learning is an important personal objective, and I wish to continue studying and consolidating my knowledge in the long term.

My passion for games naturally pushed me to find out more about user experience and game design. I like to understand and empathize people's decisions, I think that a great product or service needs a perfect user experience.

An interest in 3D and crafting also led me to own a 3D printer and to experiment with various software such as Blender or Google Sketchup. These tools help me develop and create in a quick and innovative way.

About

Career

After my schooling and one year of gymnasium ( fine arts major), I started a dual CFC training ( company and school) as a polygraphe. During four years, I acquired and perfected fundamental skills in prepress, file editing and print design. Following the completion of my Federal Certificate cursus in 2013, I am conscripted at the Payerne air force base for military duty. I completed my recruit school there as an Operating Soldier (Training and Support) for more than six months.

Hired in 2014 at Polygravia Arts Graphiques SA, I first worked as a polygraphe for usual print jobs, then I turned to packaging projects. In charge of handling complex prototype files for Philip Morris I gradually learned to advise my clients and to follow-up on the projects I was working on.

Familiar with both prepress software and hardware, I contribute, together with the Technical Manager, to the department's quality control, workflow and color management.

In 2017, in addition to my professional activities, I decided to pursue a Federal Diploma as Printing Sales Agent at the «gib» Zurich school. Behind this name lies a transversal training whose qualifications cover a wide range of applications; marketing, production management, planning, business organization are on the program. This advanced course will be successfully completed in 2019.

In 2020, as a result of the Covid19 pandemic, I left Polygravia Arts Graphiques SA. During this professional break, I take the opportunity to start mre personal projects. One of these is Eternal-Twin, a project based on Motion Twin's browser games (Hordes, Mush, Dead Cells). Following Adobe's announcement that Flash technology would be discontinued, Motion-Twin stated that it could no longer maintain support for its games, whose days were now coming to an end. The Eternal-Twin community, united and committed, decided to save this legacy despite the challenges. Our goal is to maintain or rebuild these games in an effort to ensure their continuation.

Objectives

My professional goals are diversity in work, growth through technology, as well as the acquisition of new knowledges on an everyday basis.

As a naturally curious and applied individual, I like to expand and deepen my area of expertise. Learning is a passion and a necessity for me, as well as a goal in its own right.
